Curriculum and Assessments...what to expect

We will be using the Pinnacle curriculum in all of the classrooms. My preschool classroom will also be using the Project Approach in conjunction with the Pinnacle.

The Pinnacle is a highly respected faith based curriculum that lists all aspects of the classroom which makes it easy to read by all teachers.
It is based on the works of Piaget, Gardner, and Erikson. It includes hands-on, center-based activities that promote the development of emerging skills. I am very thrilled that we will be using this curriculum and I feel that it will set apart our daycare and preschool as being a high quality christian center.

It is quoted..."It is designed to assist teachers with program planning that encourages children to develop their emerging skills in all developmental areas. It offers activities for both group time and the learning areas, and teachers have an abundance of ideas to enrich the learning centers in their classroom. The activities meet learning objectives that help children move toward their potential as they explore the materials and activities in the classroom."

The assessments that we will be using includes: checklists, a portfolio of student work, and anecdotal notes.
